Bedgear has announced the inaugural Women’s Wellness Day, a community-focused event that will take place on August 22 at Nebraska Furniture Mart in The Colony, Texas. The free event aims to promote conversations around women’s health, sleep, recovery and long-term wellness.
Organized in partnership with Nebraska Furniture Mart (NFM), the event will feature physician-scientist Dr. Helen Messier and Khalia Collier, Vice President and Chief of Staff of Basketball Operations for the Dallas Mavericks, alongside wellness brands offering educational sessions and interactive experiences.
The central theme of the event is longevity, with discussions focusing on how lifestyle choices related to sleep, nutrition, exercise and recovery can contribute to healthier aging.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics, women are more likely than men to experience difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep, underscoring the importance of personalized sleep environments and greater awareness of sleep health.
“Women’s wellness deserves dedicated conversations centered around the unique needs of the female body,” said Eugene Alletto, Founder and CEO of Bedgear. “As more people embrace longevity as a way of thinking about their future, we have an opportunity to connect the dots between sleep, recovery, exercise, and nutrition in a way that’s approachable, inspiring, and grounded in science. This inaugural Women’s Wellness Day at NFM is an important step in that journey.”
Dr. Messier, who holds a PhD in molecular immunology, an MD in family medicine and advanced training in genetics, will discuss personalized approaches to women’s wellness, highlighting preventive healthcare, nutrition, sleep and physical activity.
Khalia Collier will share insights into how professional sports organizations prioritize wellness and recovery, along with lessons from her own professional journey.
Following the keynote sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to explore wellness demonstrations from brands specializing in nutrition, fitness, recovery and sleep. Visitors can also receive personalized fittings for Bedgear’s Performance Sleep System, designed to match individual body types, sleep positions and temperature preferences.
“At NFM, we want our store to be more than a place to shop; we want it to be a destination where people can connect, learn and discover ideas that improve their homes and their lives,” said Robert Kincheloe, Store Director at Nebraska Furniture Mart.
The event will run from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on August 22. Admission is free, with complimentary tickets available through Eventbrite. Seating for the keynote presentations will be limited.
