Over 95,000 business visitors, 28,500 B2B meetings and INR 14,300 crore investment commitments recorded in three days
Bharat Tex 2026 has recorded strong business activity and international participation during its first three days, with Bharat Mandapam witnessing high footfall, extensive buyer-seller engagement and knowledge exchange across the global textile and apparel value chain.
Spread across more than 16 lakh square feet, the event has brought together 1,647 exhibitors, nearly 95,000 business visitors, over 20,000 repeat visits, 11,315 buyers including 6,090 international buyers, and 3,461 delegates and participants from 138 countries.
More than 28,500 B2B meetings and over 100 B2G and G2G interactions were held during the first three days. The event also generated serious business enquiries worth approximately $2.8 billion.
Bharat Tex Drives Textile Investment Commitments
Bharat Tex 2026 catalysed around INR 14,300 crore in textile investment commitments, with more than 30 MoUs signed by various States. The commitments included Karnataka with INR 2,821 crore and 11,020 jobs, Bihar with INR 1,476 crore and over 40,500 jobs, Maharashtra with INR 1,095 crore and Andhra Pradesh with INR 4,100 crore.
RE&UP also announced an investment of INR 4,800 crore in India.
The investment activity reinforced Bharat Tex’s role in supporting decentralised and State-led growth across India’s textile and apparel sector.
Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu participated as State Partners, while several other States and Union Territories showcased their textile strengths through dedicated pavilions.
The presence of Dr. Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, and Shri Bhagwant Singh Mann, Chief Minister of Punjab, along with senior ministers from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, further highlighted the importance of the event as a national textile platform.
Global Participation Strengthens India’s Textile Position
International participation included ministerial delegations from New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Russia, Cambodia and Portugal, along with representatives from the European Union.
More than 30 industry and international business delegations from countries including the United States, Japan, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, South Korea, UAE, Australia, France and Germany also participated in the event.
Knowledge sharing remained a key feature of Bharat Tex 2026, with 100 knowledge sessions featuring more than 600 policymakers, global experts, industry leaders, CXOs and academicians.
Discussions covered global trade dynamics, sustainability, circularity, technological innovation, artificial intelligence, responsible sourcing, investment opportunities and technical textiles.
Sanrachna Hackathon Highlights Technical Textile Innovation
The Sanrachna Hackathon at the TBD Pavilion showcased solutions developed by students and young innovators from across India. The projects included protective garments for farmers, advanced diabetic wound-care products and lightweight insulated mattresses for extreme climates.
The initiative was recognised by Shri Giriraj Singh, Union Minister of Textiles, and Shri Pabitra Margherita, Minister of State for Textiles and External Affairs. It highlighted the role of collaboration between academia, industry and government in developing next-generation technical textile solutions.
In another inclusive growth initiative, Bharat Tex 2026 organised specialised exposure visits for more than 250 entrepreneurs and weavers from Aspirational Districts across India. The programme enabled MSMEs to interact with buyers, exhibitors and industry experts while gaining insights into international quality standards, branding, product innovation and export opportunities.
The Board Meeting of the International Apparel Federation (IAF) was also hosted alongside Bharat Tex 2026, further strengthening India’s engagement with the global apparel manufacturing ecosystem.
Bharat Tex and Première Vision Paris Sign Letter of Intent
A major milestone during the event was the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) between the Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF) and Première Vision Paris.
The strategic collaboration aims to strengthen India–European Union textile partnerships through greater market access, sustainable sourcing, design intelligence and buyer-seller engagement.
Bharat Tex 2026 also hosted discussions on positioning India’s heritage textiles as premium global brands. Designers Rahul Mishra and Vaishali Shadangule, along with industry leaders, highlighted the role of craftsmanship and cultural storytelling in creating international opportunities for India’s handlooms, handicrafts and traditional weaving.
Brands of India and Circularity Hubs Draw Visitors
The CMAI Brands of India Pavilion in Hall No. 4 emerged as a major attraction, bringing together more than 70 leading Indian apparel brands.
For the first time, the pavilion also featured a dedicated showcase of India’s growing Intimate & Innerwear segment, with leading brands from Mumbai and Delhi presenting product innovations.
Brands including Westside, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, US Polo Assn, Arrow, Flying Machine, Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England, Reebok, American Eagle, Ralph Lauren, Sabyasachi, Tarun Tahiliani, Jaypore, W for Woman, Bewakoof, Dollar, Bodycare and Duke attracted buyers and retailers.
Sustainability remained a key focus through the Eco-Stitch Sustainability & Circularity Hub, jointly presented by CMAI and the Global Alliance for Textile Sustainability (GATS).
Built around the theme “Sustainable, Circular and Competitive Bharat,” the pavilion brought together recyclers, manufacturers, brands, innovators, technology providers and ecosystem partners across zones including India Impact Wall, Circularity at Scale, From Waste to Global Wardrobe, Made in Circular Bharat, Material & Innovation Library and the Circular Bharat Forum.
With packed exhibition halls, strong business engagement and extensive networking, Bharat Tex 2026 continues to strengthen India’s position as a destination for textile manufacturing, sourcing, innovation and responsible growth across the global textile and apparel value chain.
