Chhattisgarh has secured investment commitments worth nearly ₹973 crore from four textile and garment companies under the state’s Industrial Development Policy 2024–30, with the projects expected to generate more than 14,000 employment opportunities.
The investments mark growing industry participation in Chhattisgarh’s textile and garment manufacturing sector and signal the movement of major commitments towards on-ground execution.
Saravana Mills has committed ₹528 crore towards an integrated textile and apparel manufacturing campus, while Swift Textiles Pvt. Ltd. has announced a ₹235 crore manufacturing facility at the Nava Raipur Textile Park. Puneet Creations and Drishti Designs LLP have together committed around ₹210 crore, taking the combined investment commitment from the four companies to nearly ₹973 crore.
The recent bhoomipoojan of Swift Textiles’ ₹235 crore facility, which will be the first garment manufacturing unit at the Nava Raipur Textile Park, marked a key milestone in the development of the textile park.
Commenting on the sector’s potential, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said the textile industry could create employment opportunities for thousands of families, particularly women and youth in rural and semi-urban areas. He added that the state government was focused on creating employment opportunities closer to home.
Textiles and ready-made garments have been identified as priority sectors under Chhattisgarh’s Industrial Development Policy 2024–30. The policy combines investor incentives, infrastructure support and employment-linked measures to attract long-term manufacturing investments.
The four companies represent different segments of the textile value chain, ranging from yarn manufacturing to finished garments. Their collective industry experience also includes supplying to global retail brands such as H&M and Marks & Spencer. As the projects become operational, products manufactured in Chhattisgarh are expected to become part of international supply chains.
The development of ready-made garment manufacturing is also expected to create large-scale employment opportunities, particularly for women and young people from regions such as Bastar and Surguja.
Swift Textiles Managing Director Shri P. Gandhi said the company was pleased to commence construction at Nava Raipur Textile Park and thanked the Government of Chhattisgarh for its support and guidance. He said the facility would contribute to textile manufacturing growth and create significant employment opportunities in the state.
Under the Industrial Development Policy 2024–30, textile units can avail overall incentives of up to 200 per cent of their Fixed Capital Investment, including a 35 per cent capital incentive linked to an employment multiplier. The policy also provides Employment Generation Assistance of ₹6,000 per month for every female employee and ₹5,000 per month for every male employee for five years.
In addition, companies can receive training support of up to ₹15,000 per employee. The policy provides a 12-year electricity duty exemption and freight assistance. Customised incentive packages are also available for projects investing more than ₹1,000 crore and generating over 1,000 jobs.
The 81-acre Textile Park at Nava Raipur, along with the adjoining Readymade Garment Park, offers an integrated infrastructure setup with land, power, water, waste treatment and common facilities.
Located along the Mumbai–Howrah railway corridor, the park provides access to domestic markets and logistics networks. Its proximity to Visakhapatnam Port also supports export-oriented operations, while air connectivity with major commercial centres adds to the region’s logistical advantages.
With investment commitments progressing towards execution and the participation of textile and garment manufacturers increasing, Chhattisgarh is strengthening its position as an emerging textile manufacturing destination. The state’s policy-led approach and employment-focused incentives are expected to support further growth in textile production and export-oriented manufacturing.
