Green Story has partnered with Frontier to bring environmental data into fashion material sourcing.
Green Story is a textile environmental intelligence company. Frontier is an AI-powered material digitisation and management platform. The platform is used across the fashion and textile industry.
The partnership adds Green Story’s environmental assessments to the Frontier platform. This gives brands and suppliers access to facility-level sustainability data during material sourcing.
Green Story Provides Facility-Level Environmental Data
Green Story builds its environmental assessments using primary data. The company collects information directly from suppliers and manufacturing facilities.
The data covers facilities across 34 countries. It shows how and where products are made.
Green Story uses a recognised textile lifecycle assessment system. Its AI-driven and expert-led method also helps process and validate the data.
The company then adds context to the data. This helps brands access environmental information that is relevant to their sourcing work.
Environmental Data at the Material Sourcing Stage
The partnership brings sustainability data into existing material sourcing workflows.
Brands and suppliers can access Green Story’s environmental data through Frontier. They can review the data while sourcing, digitising and evaluating materials.
The data can be considered alongside key sourcing factors. These include technical specifications, pricing and availability.
This allows environmental performance to become part of the material selection process.
“Most sustainability data in fashion arrives too late to shape a material decision,” said Akhil Sivanandan, Co-Founder and CEO of Green Story.
“Our work has always been about building environmental intelligence that reflects reality, primary data from facilities, assessed by experts who understand textile manufacturing from the inside. This partnership with Frontier puts that intelligence exactly where it belongs: in the room where materials are being chosen.”
Frontier Brings Sustainability Data into Fashion Workflows
Frontier focuses on turning physical materials into usable digital data. Its platform helps brands manage and evaluate material information.
Jing L. Chao, CEO of Frontier.cool, said the partnership helps address the gap between material sourcing and environmental data.
“Frontier exists to scale physical materials into intelligent data which brands can actually use. Nowadays fabric decisions happen fast, however, environmental data has always played catch-up. By bringing Green Story’s facility-level intelligence directly into Frontier, we’re closing that gap. Brands and suppliers can now see the full picture of a material the moment they’re evaluating it, not after the decision is already made.”
Supporting Fashion’s Environmental Transparency
The partnership comes as brands face growing demand for environmental transparency.
New regulations are also increasing the need for reliable sustainability data. These include the EU’s Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).
Digital Product Passport requirements are also creating new data needs. The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) is another key development.
These requirements are increasing the need for verifiable environmental information across the fashion value chain.
Green Story’s facility-level data can give brands and suppliers access to environmental information at the material selection stage.
This creates a practical data foundation for evolving sustainability and reporting needs.
Green Story and Frontier Expand Sustainability Data Access
The partnership connects environmental intelligence with material sourcing workflows.
Brands and suppliers can now access facility-specific environmental data while evaluating materials.
By placing this data closer to the sourcing process, Green Story and Frontier aim to support more informed material evaluation across the fashion and textile industry.
