We are pleased to notify you that, in order to promote Indian textile, handloom, and handicraft products in the Middle East market, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) plans to host the 2nd edition of HATHKARGHA 2024 and a visit to Dubai, an exclusive Textile, Handloom & Handicraft Products Showcase & Buyer-Seller Meet in Dubai from December 11–13, 2024, in collaboration with the Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi, UAE, and the Consulate General of India, Dubai.
India is one of the biggest manufacturers of clothing and textiles worldwide. About 2.3% of India’s GDP, 13% of industrial production, and 12% of exports come from the nation’s domestic garment and textile sector. India accounts for 4% of the world’s textile and clothing trade. India exports handloom goods to over 20 nations worldwide. The United States, United Arab Emirates, Spain, the United Kingdom, Italy, Australia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Greece are among the leading importers. For the previous eight years, the USA has been the largest importer of handloom goods from India. The nation imported handloom goods valued at US$58.12 million in 2022–2023. US$12.72 million was exported to the United Arab Emirates, which at the time was the second-largest importer of Indian handlooms.
FICCI hopes to expand exports from India by promoting livelihood, sustainable textiles, distinctive handicrafts, and establishing a platform to interact with international buyers and designers through Hathkargha 2024.
The visit’s primary agenda would be:
- Visit to Dubai Textile City
- Networking Lunch
- Networking with Senior Government Officials.
- Meeting with Dubai Chamber of Commerce/Sharjah Chamber of Commerce
- Meeting with key Trade /Business Associations.
- Inaugural Session (H. E. Sunjay Sudhir, Ambassador of India to UAE/ Mr Satish Kumar Sivan, Consul General of India, Dubai is likely to inaugurate the event)
- Product Display & Exclusive Full Day Buyer Seller Meet (One to One Meetings) with Importers/Buyers, Hypermarket, Retail Chain.
All types of handloom, home furnishings, textile products, and handicrafts, including handloom sarees, suits, kurtas, shawls, home textiles, bed linens, carpets, mats, clothing, men’s and children’s clothing, women’s fabrics, handicraft items, gems, and jewelry, among other items.
We are providing the participation fee below for your kind review in order to help cover some of the costs associated with planning the visit. The delegate is responsible for covering the expense of travel and lodging.
