Intertextile Shenzhen 2026 Highlights Sustainable Innovation and Textile Business Growth
Intertextile Shenzhen Apparel Fabrics 2026 concluded successfully on 11 June, reinforcing its position as one of South China’s leading textile sourcing platforms by showcasing the latest innovations, sustainable solutions and heritage textile expertise.
The exhibition, held alongside Yarn Expo Shenzhen and PH Value, attracted more than 20,000 visits from 74 markets, reflecting a notable increase in international participation compared to previous editions. Nearly 620 exhibitors from 11 countries and regions presented a wide range of textile products, materials and technologies, while an expanded fringe programme focused on sustainability, innovation and future industry trends.
Innovation Takes Centre Stage
This year’s edition introduced two major initiatives aimed at promoting next-generation textile development:
- Future Horizons Forum, featuring discussions on sustainability, advanced materials and AI applications in the textile industry.
- Innovation Studio, showcasing collaborative innovations developed with universities and industry associations.
Experts from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) and Wuyi University moderated technical sessions, while representatives from organizations including Asia International Hemp Federation (AIHF), Panther Textile Group, Shift Fashion Group, LIVVIUM, Sunday Square and niisham.liimbu shared industry insights.
Greater Bay Area Drives International Business
According to Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, Shenzhen’s strategic location within the Greater Bay Area (GBA), combined with China’s visa-free initiatives and the fair’s innovation-focused positioning, contributed to stronger international participation and enhanced business opportunities.
The exhibition welcomed VIP buyers from global brands including Adidas, American Eagle, Lululemon and SIDEFAME, alongside Chinese companies such as Annakiki, CHLOSIO and Ellassay.
International buyer delegations from Southeast Asia, including representatives from the Malaysian Knitting Manufacturers Association (MKMA) and Thailand Textile Institute, further strengthened cross-border sourcing activities.
Sustainability and Heritage Attract Buyers
Visitors highlighted the exhibition’s unique combination of sustainable innovations and long-established textile manufacturers.
A Netherlands-based VIP buyer noted that the business matching programme helped establish several valuable connections with suppliers offering regenerative and sustainable textile solutions for circular economy projects.
The International Zone featured innovation-focused products alongside heritage textile manufacturers, allowing buyers to source premium materials while exploring emerging technologies.
Positive Feedback from Exhibitors
Exhibitors reported strong visitor traffic and high-quality business discussions throughout the three-day event.
Peruvian alpaca textile supplier Incalpaca TPX SA, represented by Shanghai Cavallo 1886 Ltd., highlighted growing demand from South China’s premium textile market, particularly for natural fibres.
Germany-based Global Standard gemeinnützige GmbH reported significant interest in digital traceability tools and kapok fibre standards, while Japanese and Vietnamese exhibitors praised the fair’s ability to reconnect them with regional customers and generate targeted business enquiries.
Hemp Innovation Gains Attention
The Asia International Hemp Federation (AIHF) used the Innovation Studio to demonstrate hemp’s growing potential across fashion, automotive composites and bioplastics.
Industry representatives emphasized that combining traditional natural fibres with modern technologies will be essential to advancing sustainable textile manufacturing at scale.
Strengthening South China’s Textile Industry
By combining innovative materials, sustainable manufacturing solutions, digital technologies and international networking opportunities, Intertextile Shenzhen Apparel Fabrics 2026 further strengthened its role as a key business platform for the global textile and apparel industry.
The exhibition was organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, Messe Frankfurt (Shenzhen) Co Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT, and the China Textile Information Center.
