Karl Mayer has launched an extra-wide version of its HKS 3-M EL three-bar tricot machine. The new machine targets sportswear, apparel, home textiles and technical textiles.

The HKS 3-M EL has a standard working width of 330 inches. Manufacturers can extend the width to 340 inches. Despite its wide format, the machine can reach speeds of up to 2,800 rpm.

Designed for Multiple Textile Applications

The machine supports a wide range of fabric designs and high stitch densities. It is suitable for sports, activewear and athleisure products.

The HKS 3-M EL can also produce soft and warm outdoor fabrics. These include fluffy, napped and brushed fleece fabrics used in softshell applications.

Karl Mayer said the machine combines width, speed and production flexibility. It also includes energy-efficient technologies, intelligent automation and low-maintenance features.

Flexible Production and Patterning

The machine can process different yarn types, including sustainable yarns. Its flexible patterning functions support product development and faster design changes.

The HKS 3-M EL is available in E 28 and E 32 gauges. It can also be equipped with four different batching systems.

Its EL pattern drive provides electronic guide bar control. This allows precise and simple pattern changes. The Multi-Speed feature adds further production flexibility.

According to Karl Mayer, the 340-inch HKS 3-M EL offers high productivity for manufacturers seeking wider fabric production. Textile specialists at the Karl Mayer Textile Innovation Center are also supporting customers with pattern and product development.

“With the HKS 3-M EL in 340 inches, we offer the most productive machine in this configuration on the market,” said Michael Ahrendt, Global Head of Performance Fabrics at Karl Mayer.
