Vietnam is strengthening its position as a strategic hub in the global textile and apparel supply chain, with the industry increasingly focusing on value addition, sustainability, digitalisation and supply chain transparency. Against this backdrop, the Vietnam International Trade Fair for Apparel, Textiles and Textile Technologies (VIATT) 2027 will take place from 24–26 February 2027 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City.

Organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE), VIATT 2027 will bring together stakeholders across the textile value chain, covering raw materials, fabrics, garments, home textiles, technical textiles and advanced manufacturing technologies.

VIATT strengthens its role as a global sourcing platform

The upcoming edition follows a strong performance in 2026, when VIATT welcomed nearly 460 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions and recorded more than 17,000 visits from 54 represented markets.

The 2026 edition also featured the inaugural German Pavilion and Türkiye Zone, alongside returning pavilions and zones from China, Europe, India, Japan and Taiwan. More than 350 business matching meetings connected exhibitors with buyers from over 20 countries and regions, highlighting the fair’s growing importance as a platform for international sourcing, business development and cross-border partnerships.

“Vietnam’s textile industry is at a turning point,” said Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. “As global competition intensifies and ESG requirements tighten, companies are shifting from volume-driven growth to value creation, technology adoption and supply chain transparency. As a comprehensive platform covering the full textile value chain, VIATT 2027 will support this transition in the region by connecting materials, production technologies and a range of international markets within one integrated environment.”

Vietnam focuses on higher-value textile production

VIATT 2027 comes at a significant period for Vietnam’s textile and garment sector. During the first half of 2026, the industry generated more than USD 22 billion in exports, while maintaining a full-year export target of USD 48 billion.

Industry stakeholders increasingly recognise that future growth will need to move beyond capacity expansion. Greater productivity, stronger domestic sourcing, market diversification, digital transformation and greener manufacturing are expected to play a more important role in strengthening Vietnam’s competitiveness.

With more than 60% of production inputs still imported, deeper regional integration and increased domestic value addition remain key priorities for the industry.

Three-sector format connects the textile value chain

Reflecting these priorities, VIATT 2027 will continue to build its integrated showcase around three key sectors: Apparel Fabrics & Fashion, Home & Contract Textiles, and Technical Textiles & Technologies.

The format brings together yarn suppliers, fabric manufacturers, garment producers, machinery companies and technology solution providers. This enables industry participants to identify higher-value materials, explore new production technologies and strengthen sourcing relationships across international markets.

The integrated structure was also highlighted by Mr Ezra Clarence, Marketing Manager of PT Kary Indomas Elok, Indonesia, who said: “With our company showcasing products mainly for clothes, stuffed toys, and home furniture, VIATT’s combination of three sectors is a perfect match for us, helping us reach new potential customers. As we look to expand exports to the US and Europe, we were able to meet highly targeted buyers here.”

Sustainability and technology remain central

Beyond its exhibition floor, VIATT has developed into a platform for industry discussions around sustainability regulations, digitalisation, trade developments and emerging market trends.

At VIATT 2027, sustainability will remain a major focus through initiatives including the Econogy Hub and Econogy Check. These platforms will highlight certified sustainable fibres, recycled materials, circular solutions and traceability systems, helping businesses respond to increasingly stringent ESG and compliance requirements in major global markets.

The fair will also continue to provide opportunities for industry experts and stakeholders to discuss the future of textile manufacturing, sustainable production and supply chain transformation.

The importance of Vietnam’s move towards greater material differentiation and supply chain visibility was highlighted by Mr William Yip, Raw Materials Lead at Mountain Equipment Company, Canada.

“What’s quite unique about Vietnam is its transition towards more innovative qualities and material differentiation. This fair is very important because for many brands, it is essential to look at the entire value chain. From a traceability perspective, it is invaluable to have insight into your yarn supplier, the yarns used in your fabrics, and ultimately your garment suppliers.”

VIATT 2027 to connect regional and global stakeholders

As Vietnam’s textile industry undergoes structural transformation, VIATT 2027 aims to serve as both a sourcing hub and strategic meeting point for manufacturers, suppliers, brands, buyers and technology providers.

By combining the entire textile value chain with a stronger focus on sustainability, technology and value-added production, the fair is positioned to support Vietnam and the wider ASEAN textile sector as the region adapts to changing global sourcing requirements.

VIATT 2027 will be held from 24–26 February 2027 at SECC, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Organisers: Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE).
