Cheers to Boxing Day! For a little while, at least, we are now in the pleasant after-Christmas calm. We have some product changes related to Lightovation, which will start in less than two weeks.
Fine Art Handcrafted Lighting, which premiered designer Barclay Butera’s work at High Point Market in October, will hold a special event at Lightovation on Tuesday, January 7 at 3 p.m. at TM4 – North Elevator Lobby. There will be an after-party at TM4705 from 4 to 6 p.m.
With pieces that evoke waves and sails in Miami-made blown glass designs, Butera’s Embark collection honors “light, texture, and the beauty of travel,” according to Fine Art. Additionally, the Blade collection of linear and rectangular pendants with chevron designs and the sleek lines of contemporary aircraft are on display at Fine Art.
The Bloom collection by Kalco, on the other hand, is an abstract representation of lotus blossoms with double-layered bone china petals that produce different levels of transparency. This wall sconce doubles as a flush mount for the ceiling. Allegri, a sister firm, presents its antler-inspired Corna Collection. Using crystals and cutting-edge LED technology, it is a stylish and creative interpretation of a classic chandelier.
Four Japanese-inspired table lamp designs have just been introduced by Seattle-based home décor company Lawrence & Scott. Despite being minimalist, this handcrafted collection gives careful consideration to the textures and shapes of the materials that set the designs apart. In order to appeal to the mid-market without compromising quality, the collection is priced lower than its prior assortments, CEO Leo Lam stated in an email. According to him, it’s a business pivot.
