Students showcase textile design, fashion management projects, and industry collaborations at annual event
Daman: The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Daman campus marked its annual Graduation Show on 24th May, highlighting the work of students completing Bachelor of Design in Textile Design and Master of Fashion Management programmes.
The event featured final-year B.Des. Textile Design students presenting collections developed over six months of collaboration with textile mills, export houses, and design studios. Their work included home furnishings, apparel fabrics, handicraft development, and sustainable textiles, combining traditional craft influences with contemporary design approaches through varied weaves, prints, and surface treatments.
Students from the Master of Fashion Management programme presented project work focused on merchandising, retail planning, digital marketing, supply chain management, and brand development. These projects were undertaken in collaboration with national brands, export houses, and e-commerce platforms, addressing practical industry challenges through data-driven approaches.
According to the institute, several students received Pre-Placement Offers based on internship and project performance, while others secured roles in fashion and retail companies.
The event was attended by Special Secretary Industries Shri Onkar Gopal Marathe IAS as Chief Guest. Director Dr Sanjay Shrivastava and Joint Director Mr Khushal Jangid also addressed the gathering. The placement brochures “Tantu” for Textile Design and “Bottomline” for the MFM department were released during the event.
The programme also included interactions between alumni, industry representatives, and faculty, reflecting on student work and industry engagement.
