The staging team from The Cozy Home focused on furniture size and room layout. They avoided oversized pieces that could make the space feel crowded.
A properly sized rug was added to define and anchor the workspace. This simple change helped create a clear visual zone without closing off the room.
Scale was also important. Smaller furniture allowed more floor space and improved movement through the room.
Creating a Cozy Reading Nook
The team also used the room’s unusual shape to create a reading nook. A chair was placed in the acute corner behind the desk.
Instead of leaving the awkward corner unused, the designers turned it into a useful feature. The arrangement added another purpose to the room while keeping the main workspace open.

The Madison condo was listed for $324,000 and is now under contract. Its transformation shows that even difficult layouts can become attractive and functional with the right design approach.
