Introducing Forbo’s New Tessera Topology Collection with Thrive® Matter Yarns.
The first collection in their Evolve+ series, New Tessera Topology by Forbo Flooring Systems, with Thrive® matter yarn from Universal Fibers®, is now available! Universal Fibers is thrilled to announce this.
Thrive® matter, composed of 90% recycled nylon 6 and 100% solution-dyed, has the lowest carbon impact of any yarn in the business. With the help of this cutting-edge yarn and Forbo’s efficient production methods, carpet tiles with an embodied carbon of less than 1.5 kg CO2/square meter and over 75% recycled content are produced. The collection is produced in facilities that use only renewable energy, such as electricity and biogas, demonstrating Forbo’s dedication to minimizing its negative environmental effects.
As a manufacturer, Forbo Flooring Systems places a high value on sustainability, according to Donna Hannaway, Head of Marketing, UK and Ireland. We constantly search for methods to modify and expand our product portfolios in accordance with our core values of renewability, transparency, and circularity as well as to satisfy contemporary sustainability standards. This implies that we are continuously creating new methods that specifiers and architects may use to incorporating ecologically friendly finishes throughout their works, such as this latest line.”
Apart from its eco-friendly advantages, Tessera Topology presents a chic and modern look. The geometric pattern in the series strikes a balance between organic textures and straight angles, producing a distinctive and adaptable design that adds warmth and character to any interior space. Tessera Topology, which is designed and produced in the UK, is perfect for fast-track projects like office refurbishments because it is readily accessible ex stock. In order to provide end users with a healthier atmosphere, the collection also satisfies strict indoor air quality criteria, such as Indoor Air Comfort Gold and GUT certification.
Tessera Topology offers a perfect option for a variety of tasks. It comes in a mix of lovely neutral tones and muted accents, like the earthy green of Willow Inverse and the delicate beige of Pebble Tangent. The tiles have a standard 50x50cm format, which makes it simple to combine them with other items from Forbo’s Tessera line, creating countless design options.
With IOBAC MagTabsTM, Forbo’s Tessera carpet tiles may be laid without the need for adhesive, facilitating their easy removal and reuse or recycling while promoting a circular economy. Forbo is particularly pleased to have recently joined forces with the Salvation Army Trading Company, contributing reusable carpet tiles to help the latter’s Take Back program and furniture stores.
Tessera Topology is the first product in Universal Fibers’ Evolve+ series, a line of products aimed at improving sustainability and innovation in the production of carpet tiles, and it represents a major advancement in Forbo’s sustainability journey.
“Our work with Forbo has enabled the creation of an industry-leading product that perfectly aligns with the evolving demands of sustainability in the carpet tile industry,” said Phil Harmon, President of Universal Fibers, regarding the collaboration. We are thrilled to see Thrive® matter, our most environmentally friendly fiber to date, support Forbo’s sustainable goals.”
