Boston — Wayfair Professional’s Design Trends offer five design concepts that range from classic or modern to whimsical or elegant, making them a great resource for designers seeking ideas for the future year.

The following are the design trends for 2025: Restorative Realms, which combine calm and sustainable aesthetics; Joyful Expression, which offers vibrant colors and whimsical patterns; Moody Sophistication, which offers sophisticated textures, tones, and themes; Classics Revisited, which celebrates traditional style with vintage allusions; and New Wave Futurism, which has a surrealist vibe, tonal metallics, and iridescent effects.

According to Amanda Evans, head of brand marketing and promotions for Wayfair Professional, planning for the annual campaign starts nine months in advance with an investigation of numerous external resources to find new trends. “Our in-house design team further defines each style with specific design characteristics to establish a clear identity and guide product selection after identifying which trends are most likely to resonate with our B2B verticals,” she said.

For well chosen shoppable collections, that is the rule. Specific items from the home furnishings collections of the Wayfair, Perigold, AllModern, Joss & Main, and Birch Lane brands are included in each trend.

“It keeps our members ahead of the curve with fresh, on-trend solutions for both residential and commercial projects,” Evans added, highlighting the significance of sharing these ideas with the design community. These trends provide access to the newest items from Wayfair’s extensive family of brands while offering insightful information and motivation.

According to her, Wayfair’s account managers and business design team use the designs in their client projects, and Wayfair’s Tastemakers, who are Wayfair Professional design partners, apply the trends to their own work. According to Evans, short-term rental clients are using the trends “to keep their spaces fresh in a competitive market,” which is a more recent usage.

The Joyful Expression style “embraces the beauty of courageous and unexpected combinations, where playful, vibrant hues meet timeless silhouettes,” according to Blessed Little Bungalow tastemaker Amber Guyton. Without going along with the crowd, it’s about designing areas that feel both unique and sophisticated.

The Interior Collective’s Tastemaker Anastasia Casey described The Classics Revisited as “an exciting way to express a client’s individuality, bringing together old-world charm with modern sensibilities.”

Seeing which trends are most popular on social media and in-person is always fascinating, Evans added, “helping us refine our offerings to better serve the Wayfair Professional community.”
