Shanghai fair to feature global yarn suppliers, trend forums and next-generation textile materials

Yarn Expo Autumn 2026 will return to the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from 25 – 27 August, bringing together global suppliers and buyers from the yarn and fibre industry.

The previous edition attracted more than 22,000 visitors and nearly 580 exhibitors from 16 countries and regions, featuring developments in yarns, fibres and textile materials linked to innovation and sustainability. Organisers stated that the upcoming edition will include a range of fibre and yarn products alongside industry forums, trend display areas and presentations focused on new-generation materials and sustainable textile concepts.

Wilmet Shea said: “Yarn Expo Autumn remains a platform where the industry can access the latest yarn and fibre trends, technologies and sustainable solutions. By bringing together leading exhibitors, curated trend displays and in-depth forums under one roof, the fair helps fairgoers navigate fast-changing market demands and identify new growth opportunities. Held alongside Intertextile Apparel and two further complementary fairs, the upcoming edition will enable visitors to source across the textile value chain in one trip, while promoting leading exhibitors whose innovations are shaping the sector’s future.”

According to organisers, China continues to account for a significant share of global textile and clothing exports, supported by integrated supply chains, manufacturing capacity and logistics infrastructure. The event is positioned as a meeting point for suppliers and buyers from Asia and international markets.

The previous edition included dedicated pavilions and zones representing India, Pakistan and Taiwan, alongside products such as Polylana® fibre from The Movement B.V., presented as a lower-impact synthetic wool alternative.

The 2026 edition will include specialised zones focused on cashmere, chemical fibres, cotton, fancy yarns, green linen yarn, silk yarn and quality wool yarns. The International Zone is expected to feature suppliers including Cotton Council International, PT. Indo-Rama Synthetics Tbk and Toray Industries Inc.

“Yarn Expo Autumn is an exceptional platform for connecting with international buyers and engaging with existing customers,” said Muhammad Mubeen. “Many of our target buyers attend, making it a prime opportunity for networking and one of the best venues to explore yarn sales opportunities. Exhibiting allows us to gain valuable insights into market trends, helping us identify in-demand products and unique offerings, which enables us to tailor our efforts effectively and introduce new products to the market.”

First-time exhibitors at the previous edition also highlighted opportunities for new market access and supply chain engagement.

“This is our first Yarn Expo Autumn, which we joined to engage with new audiences after eight years in the Chinese market,” said Jimad Khan. “The experience has been positive, with strong interest, enquiries and sample requests. We focus on natural fibres, with demand increasing due to European traceability legislation and China’s emphasis on quality. The fair is important for connecting with the entire supply chain, from fibre suppliers to weavers and fabric producers.”

Organisers stated that the exhibition reflects broader market developments related to traceability, sustainability and demand for recycled and lower-impact materials.

Yarn Expo Autumn 2026 will be held alongside Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition, CHIC and PH Value, bringing together different segments of the textile and apparel supply chain under one venue.
