Yarn Expo Spring 2026 concluded successfully on March 13, recording its highest-ever exhibitor participation. The event hosted over 600 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions and attracted more than 25,000 visitors from 113 countries and regions, marking a 7% increase compared to the previous Spring edition.

Held across 27,000 sqm in Hall 8.2 of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), the fair highlighted the textile industry’s ongoing transition towards sustainability and functional innovation. Exhibitors presented a wide range of eco-friendly yarns and fibres, including organic, regenerated, and recycled materials, alongside high-performance and sweat-resistant fibre solutions.

The event was further strengthened by an extensive fringe programme that provided market insights, showcased emerging trends, and facilitated business networking opportunities.

Speaking at the fair’s conclusion, Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, said:

“This year’s Yarn Expo Spring grew in scale and relevance, achieving its highest exhibitor numbers to date, and a wider array of innovative, responsible yarn and fibre solutions. Strong turnout on both the exhibitor and visitor sides reflects market confidence in the platform, and the feedback from participants has been highly encouraging. The fringe programme featured a range of upcoming textile trends and new-to-market yarns and fibres, empowering buyers to turn ideas into business opportunities.”

Global Reach and Industry Diversity

The increase in visitor numbers reinforces Yarn Expo’s position as a major sourcing platform in Asia. Key visiting regions included Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Türkiye, the United States, and Vietnam.

Exhibitors from countries such as China, India, Pakistan, and Taiwan represented a diverse mix of established players and emerging suppliers, with a notable emphasis on next-generation fibres, including recycled and regenerated materials.

Across the International Zone and seven specialised product zones—Cashmere Yarn, Cotton Yarn, Chemical Fibre, Fancy Yarn, Linen Yarn, Silk Yarn, and Wool Yarn—the fair showcased both conventional and advanced textile solutions. Certified products, including those aligned with BCI, GOTS, and GRS standards, were widely featured, such as recycled polyester for activewear and organic cotton for sustainable apparel.

New participants like Toray Industries Inc (Japan), presenting high-function fibres such as Premium GOUSEN, and Circ Inc (USA), demonstrating textile-to-textile recycling technologies, attracted strong attention. Indian exhibitors highlighted initiatives like water-efficient Kasturi Cotton, while NORGIIS GROUP (UK) introduced premium cotton yarns sourced from Central Asia and Türkiye.

Complementing the exhibition, innovation-driven fringe events such as the Tongkun China Fibres Fashion Trends 2026/2027 Show and “From Textile to Textile, Powered by Enzymatic Renewal” explored future applications and circular strategies, offering buyers valuable insights into sustainability trends and material innovation.

Industry Feedback and Market Opportunities

Exhibitors and visitors highlighted the fair’s effectiveness in enabling business connections and showcasing innovation. Participants noted strong interest from international buyers, opportunities for entering new markets, and increasing demand for sustainable and functional materials.

Industry representatives emphasized the fair’s role in connecting suppliers with global buyers, supporting expansion into key markets such as China, and facilitating collaboration across the textile value chain.

Visitors also highlighted the diversity of materials available, particularly eco-friendly yarns and fibres, and their relevance for applications ranging from fashion and home textiles to pet products. Many noted that the event provided inspiration for product development and offered access to reliable sourcing partners.
