CEMATEX has selected 20 start-ups for its Start-Up Grant at ITMA 2027.
The start-ups come from nine countries. They will present their new ideas at Start-Up Valley in Hanover.
CEMATEX will cover the full cost of their participation. The grant includes a stand and other event services.
Start-Ups Focus on Textile Innovation
The 20 start-ups work in key areas of textile and garment production.
Their work covers:
- Colourants and chemicals
- Fibres, yarns and fabrics
- Garment making
- Textile recycling
- Software and automation
- Testing
Many of the companies focus on sustainability. They are also working on ways to support a more circular textile industry.
Their solutions cover materials, dyes, recycling, water use and production systems.
New Solutions for Textile Production
Amphico is developing a PFAS-free membrane. The material is made for waterproof and breathable fabrics.
The company is also working on a new colour system. It adds colour through weaving instead of dyeing.
SwitchDye is developing CO₂-switchable dyes. The system aims to cut the use of water, energy and chemicals in dyeing.
Recyc’Elit works on recycling blended fabrics. Its process separates the materials in these fabrics. It can then recover materials for new recycled polyester.
Refiberd uses software and imaging tools to identify textile materials. This can help recyclers sort fabrics more easily.
20 Companies Receive the Grant
The 20 grant recipients are Amphico, BioFluff, Eeden, EverDye, Fibarcode, Gemell Technology, Innovo Fiber, NunoX, Re.Solution, Recyc’Elit, Refiberd, ReSpin, Revoltech, RubyLab, Sages, Silana, Solena Materials, Sparxell, SwitchDye and Tintte.
The start-ups will exhibit at ITMA 2027 with major textile technology companies.
The event will give them a chance to meet manufacturers, brands, investors and research groups.
CEMATEX President Alex Zucchi said the start-ups show how sustainability is becoming part of textile innovation.
Dr Christian P. Schindler, Director General of ITMF, said the entries showed the wide range of new ideas in the textile sector.
ITMA 2027 will also focus on Advanced Materials, Automation & Digital Future, and Human-Centric Manufacturing.
The selected start-ups may also get speaking and profile opportunities at the Innovator Xchange.
ITMA 2027 will take place in Hanover. The event will bring together textile technology companies, manufacturers and new innovators.
