Kips Bay Announces Historic Greenwich Village Townhouse for 2026 New York Decorator Show House

The Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club has announced the location for the 2026 Kips Bay New York Decorator Show House, selecting the historic townhouse at 80 W. Washington Place in Greenwich Village as the venue for the annual interior design showcase.

Scheduled to open to the public for four weeks beginning 16 September 2026, the event will transform the landmark residence into a curated exhibition of interior design, furnishings, art, and lifestyle concepts while raising funds to support the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club.

Built in 1839, the six-level Georgian red-brick townhouse has a rich history, having once been owned by renowned American composer John Philip Sousa and, more recently, by Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott. The property has been carefully restored to preserve its historic architectural character while incorporating modern luxury features.

The residence spans approximately 8,700 square feet of interior living space and includes six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, four landscaped private terraces totaling 1,566 square feet, a private elevator, multiple outdoor living spaces, two chef’s kitchens, a wellness level with a glass-enclosed sauna and gym, a skylit media lounge with a 700-bottle wine cellar, and a rooftop terrace overlooking Washington Square Park.

Melissa Olson of Douglas Elliman, who represents the property listed for $21 million, said the townhouse’s history makes it a fitting venue for the renowned design exhibition.

“Over nearly two centuries, 80 W. Washington Place has been home to notable figures and thoughtfully cared for by generations of owners. It’s a residence with a remarkable story, and welcoming the Kips Bay Decorator Show House feels like a natural next chapter, one that honors the home’s legacy while showcasing the extraordinary creativity that defines the design world today,” she said.

James Druckman, President of the Board of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, said the organisation is pleased to return to Greenwich Village for the 2026 edition.

“We’re thrilled to be back in Greenwich Village this year. This neighborhood has a real appreciation for design and architecture, and 80 W. Washington Place is a perfect example of that. We’re excited to see how the designers bring their ideas to life in such a unique New York home,” Druckman said.

Since its inception in 1973, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House has become one of the interior design industry’s most prominent annual events, attracting approximately 15,000 visitors each year from across the United States. The exhibition has raised more than $33 million to support over 14,000 children through educational and recreational programs offered by the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club.

Founded in 1915, the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club serves young people aged 6 to 18 across multiple locations in the Bronx, providing after-school programs focused on education, leadership, and personal development. In addition to New York, the Decorator Show House has expanded to include annual editions in Palm Beach, Florida, and Dallas, Texas.

The 2026 Kips Bay New York Decorator Show House will once again bring together leading interior designers to reimagine one of Manhattan’s historic residences while supporting youth development initiatives through one of the design industry’s most recognised charitable events.
